ESPS Supervision Rotating Machinery System

The ESPS system is measurement system designed for supervision of rotating machinery. The ESPS system allows measurement of the following value: shipments, rotation speed, direction of rotation, absolute and relative vibrations. The ESPS system is composed of two type modules: ESPS-11 measurement unit and ESPS-01 communication unit. The ESPS-11 module is microprocessor signal amplifier designed for security, control, monitoring and diagnostic of rotating machinery with constant or variable rotation speed. The ESPS-11 module enables direct cooperation with the majority of measuring probes used to measure the vibration, the elongation and rotation speed. Adaptation the module to the type of probe is performed by software. There are available configurations for many probes various producers.

The ESPS-11 module enables the following capabilities:

- measuring amplitude and RMS(root mean square) of a position, speed and acceleration of an absolute vibration,

- measuring amplitude and RMS of a relative vibration with controlling distance between a probe head and a selected item,

- measuring of eccentricity with controlling distance between a probe head a selected item,

- measuring value of shipments including the shaft axial displacement, differential expansion, case expansion and the position of devices,

- measuring rotation speed performed using 1,2 or 3 measuring probes (for 3 probes according to "2 out of 3" voting logic),

- measuring direction of rotation, measuring other process variable signals (current 0(4)÷20 mA or voltage 0(4)÷20 V),

- testing turbine safety system by simulating values of measured signal.

The ESPS-01 module is equipped with:

- two (2) galvanically separated serial interfaces RS232/422/485 (MODBUS RTU protocol),

- one (1) separated analogue output 4÷20 mA,

- tree (3) separated relay outputs to signaling failure or to generate signals for the safety systems,

- three (3) separated pulse rate inputs (current or voltage) to measuring a rotation speed using "2 out of 3" voting logic,

- one (1) input for measuring probe with the possibility of setting up probe current or voltage supply,

- possibility of supplying unit with two independent sources four-character digital display to presentation of measurement values and status of the module,

- six (6) LED to local presentation of measurement values,

- three buttons to selection of the displayed variable, enabling test mode and changing test signal,

- one (1) buffered transducer output

The ESPS-01 communication module is the controller based on Linux operating system. The ESPS-01 module has tree serial ports (COM1, COM3, COM4) and one Ethernet interface. Serial port COM4 is designed to communication with ESPS-11 units (serial interface RS 485). One ESPS-01 module can operate with at most sixteen ESPS-11 units. Ethernet interface and serial port (COM1 and COM3) are used for communications with any superior system supporting MODBUS TCP and MODBUS RTU protocols.
